To reach help in Bessemer call (205) 425-4303, in downtown Birmingham call the “614” at (205) 252-6616, and in Shelby & Chilton counties call (205) 663-7105, or click on the icons below for ministry information. The Salvation Army has community centers that serve as churches and social service centers. They serve local neighborhoods in downtown Birmingham (known as “614”), Shelby & Chilton counties and Bessemer. Salvation Army officers pastor each center, leading their members in worship, fellowship, and offer financial, emotional and spiritual assistance to those in their immediate vicinity that are in a crisis situation. This allows for one-on-one contact and assistance. Groups from each area also regularly visit local nursing homes, hospitals, jails and all those in need in our community. They also provide activities for youth and senior groups.
