Tucked away in the hills off Birmingham's Crestwood Boulevard, The Salvation Army Youth Services Center is a home and school for at-risk adolescents and young adults. The center offers a residential treatment program as well as an educational treatment program.
Adolescent Residential Treatment Program
The Alabama Department of Human Resources refers boys and girls between the ages of twelve and twenty-one to live at The Salvation Army Youth Services Center. These children are victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, who face immediate danger in their current living situation. The Salvation Army provides for these children a structured, supportive environment, which encourages responsible behavior, and promotes the attainment of personal goals. Length of stay is determined by each child's needs.
