The Salvation Army has Corps Community Centers, or churches, in Alabaster, Bessemer and Birmingham. Salvation Army officers pastor each corps, leading their members (soldiers) in worship, fellowship, and community service. Groups from each Corps regularly visit local nursing homes and hospitals. Corps Commuity Centers also provide activities for youth and senior groups
