Free services for the homeless offers help and hope for those willing to break the cycle. This Saturday April 9, The Salvation Army along with Project Homeless Connect will be at Boutwell from 7am-4pm offering free medical, identification, veteran, and employment services, as well as supplies such as toiletries, reading glasses and more. There will also be pet care and haircuts for those needing that. Over 1500 volunteers are expected to help the homeless access services they normally don’t get to. Part of the service will be linking individuals with programs available to break the cycle of homelessness.
We still need volunteers for the morning and afternoon so please consider helping. Find out more about it by visiting Hands On Birmingham to volunteer. Past volunteers have called it an “eye opening and rewarding experience.”
